ELVASTON MEWS
A basement extension and refurbishment of a London Mews House. To maximise the natural light internally, a mechnaised facade of vertical oak fins was installed with a glass floor behind to bring daylight into the basement. A new stair core was also formed at ther rear of the building, with mesh treads and risers designed into the metal stair to minimise it’s opacity. An openable glass roof above the stair core also allows it to act as a natural ventilation stack. Completed early 2018.
