Interior design scheme of the entrance lobby and show flat of a new-build development consisting of 89 private flats over 12 floors, commercial units, a gym and a concierge area in Whitechapel in London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
The aim was to design a luxury bespoke interior that reflected the sophisticated city lifestyle in prime City of London which met the client’s design aspirations.
As the entrance starts the journey through the building, the design of the lobby was meticulously crafted to appeal to discerning buyers with a keen eye for aesthetics. By seamlessly blending robust industrial materials like corten, known for its rugged, weathered appearance, and gleaming satin brass, the space exuded a modern yet warm ambiance. This careful combination is complemented by the elegance of white oiled timber veneer, which added a touch of natural warmth, and the intricate patterns of terrazzo flooring, which provided both durability and visual interest. Together, these elements created an inviting atmosphere that beautifully balanced sophistication with an authentic industrial charm.
The contrast between raw and sophisticated is then carried through to the show flat. A striking dark oak kitchen, paired with sleek metallic lacquer and durable engineered stone, created a stunning focal point in the expansive open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The space is beautifully enhanced by concrete wall panelling that adds an industrial edge, while the herringbone oak timber flooring introducing warmth and a rich contrast of textures.
The bathrooms continue the loft-inspired theme, incorporating a captivating blend of concrete-effect and subway tiles. The incorporation of elegant Critall-style screens added a sophisticated touch, complemented by luxurious brass tapware that infused an air of opulence into the overall aesthetic.
The two-bed, two-bath show flat eventually became the fit-out template for the rest of the units for the second phase of this development.
