A remodelling of a basement Karaoke bar in Mayfair.
An existing karaoke space had been taken over by new management, and they were looking to create a luxurious but fun experience through a collection of personality-filled spaces.
Descending from pavement level one enters a subterranean bar and waiting area with an illuminated bartop and booth seating. From the back of the bar area is a bright red, reflective corridor with a chain-link ‘chandelier’ ceiling. This leads to seven private karaoke rooms, each themed around a famous recording artist. Semi-obscured glass doors giving a glimpse of the revelry beyond.
A bold palette of exotic materials was employed for this project, concentrating on brightly coloured, textured and reflective surfaces, with lighting design being used to enhance the individual moods with the rooms. Joinery within the karaoke rooms was designed to securely house audio equipment and video screens
